CHOOSING A FLY ROD

When choosing a rod the things to consider are COMFORT, LENGTH, ACTION, POWER, WEIGHT and DURABILITY.

This section of my site covers the basics. For options only available on a custom rod please see my custom rod page. These pages should help you choose the right rod for you. In most cases this will not be the most expensive. I fish with several different rods depending on the situation. It is not because I can't do it with just 1 rod but because some rods are better for technique specific situations.
