Fun with jewelry! This reel seat has november birthmonth stones (simulated gems). This is a $25 option, For an additional $20 (total of $45) they can be put at the retaining ring just below the grip.
This is a matching burl rosewood grip/reel seat combination. The reel seat has titanium carbide hardware and the guides are holographic titanium nitride plated zirchonia. I laser engraved the owner's name on the other side but did not show it for privacy reasons.
Below is a typical money saving rod built with factory built components. I built this rod with components that are upgraded from the factory cersion but still managed to save the buyer close to $50. This was built on a Talon Highlander 10' 3 piece 4WT blank. This rod uses a factory made burl burl rosewood grip and matching nickel silver reel seat.
OK, this is a fish, not a rod but it smiled for the camera when it jumped out of my hands. It suprised me, that's why I have a goofy look on my face. At an estimated 18" this fish was still 4" too short to keep. I have pulled as many as 50 fish this size out of Kolob Reservoir out in a single day. I am not licensed as a guide but I am always willing to take people fishing for free. If you come to Zion National Park I'll be glad to show you how to land these babies on a 4WT with 8X tippets.
This is one of my personal favorites. The hardware is titanium nitride. The cork is burl cork of a very hard to get grade that has been laser engraved. The wood spacer is custom too. This is a truly one of a kind 5 weight rod that I have landed trout over 2' long on. Until I find a new source for this grade of burl cork I only have enough to turn a few more.
This is a 6 piece 6wt with a standard grade cork grip and titanium carbide hardware. Each section of this rod is only 17" This was built on 6 pieces of a 7 piece 9' blank and I could rebuild this rod for $150
This is a 5 piece 3WT with a money saving grade A cork grip, Pacific Bay A7 reel seat with an Alaskan Birch insert and titanium carbide hardware. This is possibly the finest casting 3 weight rod I have ever cast. This rod uses economy grade cork. This is a $250 rod that will compare with any $500 rod on the market!
