GRIPS These are the basic shapes for fly rod grips. Custom shapes and sizes are available for a nominal fee. These are "Super" grade cork from Pacific Bay ($19) or are available as a standard grade (grade A) from a generic company for $13. Pacific Bay's "Super" grade cork is a very good quality and are used on many high end rods. Please see below for even higher grade cork grips. Flawless and burl cork are available as are cork grips with wood ends and grips made entirely from hardwood. If you are just looking for a money saver I can also turn grips from EVA foam. Full Wells. Grip length is 7 - 1/2". O.D. 1"

One of the best ways to save money on jewelry quality hardware for your fly rod is to use a pre made grip/reel seat combination from American Tackle. These are one of the best choices out there for making a truly special rod. 

Available woods for matching grip/reel seat combo are Burl Rosewood, Kingwood and Bloodwood. Grade "AAAA" cork. I can also turn a similar grip out of any wood you might like for a nominal fee. Please see my reel seats page for close ups of the American Tackle matching reel seat. STRUBLE Struble cork grips are made from the finest grade cork on the market. If the wood end caps are too showy for you but you still want grade AAAA cork pre-turned grips from Struble are the perfect choice. Price is $32. Pictured here is a custom burl cork grip. A burl cork grip will run approximately $4/inch. Burl cork is heavier than standard cork but it is also more rigid which helps with detecting light strikes on nymphs when a strike indicator is not an option. 
Also available but not shown are FLOR grade grips. FLOR grade grips are virtually flawless and run $5-$6 per inch.
